Japanese production of the years 1945/50. Part of a set of 4, with variations. The BARBER SHOP QUARTET was born at the beginning of 1900 in American hairdressing salons, where customers used to sing "a capella" while waiting for their turn. This genre gave rise to contests and festivals, and is still in vogue today in the United States. In France the genre was represented by the "Frères Jacques" H.13,5cm. Under the base is a MADE IN JAPAN WALES label (WALES is the name of the American importer).
