2 CIGALS in green hard stone, probably jade, old nephrite or serpentine. China Han dynasty or inspired period (19th century.) Dim: 6,5/3cm. The oval-shaped body is hollowed out axially with a through-hole connecting the two ends. The cicada was a symbol of immortality and rebirth in Chinese civilization. The stone shows areas of ferruginous oxidation and natural erosion, testifying to an old burial and a surface polished by time. Objects, most of them "literate", from the former Yelena X... collection, resident in Hong Kong before the Second World War.
