Armand François Comte d'Allonville, Mémoires tirés des papie - Lot 107
Armand François Comte d'Allonville, Mémoires tirés des papiers d'un homme d'Etat, on the secret causes that determined cabinet policy in the war of the revolution. In Paris, by L. G. Michaud, 1831-1838. 13 vol. in-8, brown half calf, spines plain and ornate (contemporary binding). Second edition largely original. Only two volumes were published during the first attempt to publish the papers of the Count of Allonville by Alphonse de Beauchamp in 1828. They are not memoirs strictly speaking, but documents gathered for a publication on the history of this period, with a very large number of documents reproduced in the appendix. The Revolution occupies the first seven volumes. Volume XIII ends with a general, methodical and analytical Table. Map folded in frontispiece. Nice copy. Fierro, 18; Tulard, 15.
