"D'Holbach asserts that the Universe is made of matter and movement. This is the basis of the entire system. This is the sensitive point, the one that will be the most fought against. The affirmation is, in the end, partially taken up by Descartes and Newton, not to mention Leibniz, Toland and Hobbes, and many other naturalist philosophers" (Naville). Vercruysse 1775/A5.
