Study for "Le bois sacré" allegorical fresco in the Sorbonne's Grand Amphithéâtre. This is a preparatory study for the right-hand side of the fresco, depicting the allegories of Physics and Geometry: "Physics unfurling its veils before a swarm of young men who devote themselves to its worship, offering it the flame of electricity as the first fruits of their labors; in the shade of a grove, Geometry, represented by a group absorbed in the search for a problem".
