Gaston Bergeret. Les événements de Pontax, handwritten and o - Lot 233

Gaston Bergeret. Les événements de Pontax, handwritten and original watercolors after Henriot. P., Librairie Conquet, Carteret et Cie, 1899, in-4, full red morocco, green mosaic garland on covers, gilt fillets, spine decorated with mosaic decoration, interior lace, moiré silk endpapers (Dupinay et Godet), cover preserved, number 88/200 on vélin du Marais. Some rubbing to binding. A sought-after and highly-rated edition; it perfectly imitates a color manuscript without any typographical characters. The author's text, an amusing administrative critique, is full of humor, and Henriot has rendered the scenes described with real brio. (Carteret-IV-70) (Monod-1410) (Fléty-64)
