LEPAUTE Jean. (1720-1789). A LOUIS XV PARQUET REGULATOR signed LEPAUTE in Luxembourg, veneered with rosewood and violet. Ornamentation of gilded bronzes. Movement with original "Soleil" balance, with weights and counterweights. Works one week. Eighteenth century. H.208 L.33. Arrived very young in Paris in 1740, we owe him a great number of inventions and major innovations in the clock-making trade.
